HL7 version 2.7 is the latest version in the HL7 version 2 messaging standard and replaces earlier standards 2.6, 2.5.1 and 2.5.

v3.0:

HL7 Version 3 uses a well defined methodology based on RIM (Reference Information Model). It uses object-oriented methodology for development and a RIM for message creation. RIM is an integral part of HL7 V3 standard.

CDA R2:

CDA R2 stands for Clinical Document Architecture Release 2. This standard provides a method for exchanging clinical documents. Use of XML, RIM and coded vocabularies makes the document electronically parsable and also human readable. CDA documents can be viewed using web browsers too.
